Meta:
Localized Illustrations Highlight Community

As a company that helps bring people together with programs and technologies, Meta engaged our team to develop a variety of illustrations to convey moments of connection, and programming, to share with policymakers.
I directed a global team of illustrators, and together we identified local themes, patterns, and people from real communities, and brought them together in a continuous house style.

Scope: Creative Strategy, Art Direction, Book Design
The Process:
Art Direction centered around rich stories and moments from real communities Meta engaged. These incorporated region-specific details such as Latin American weaving patterns, Asia-Pacific batik, textile designs from the Middle East and North Africa, and elements of Austin, Texas, food culture. We considered every detail of skin tone, attire, and accessories to ensure Meta could easily adapt each image to reflect diverse audiences, markets, and contexts.
